Chef Kelly Loughrige
Baking and Pastry Arts Instructor
Chef Kelly Loughrige joined Baker College in 1997 as a Chef Instructor in both the Culinary and Baking and Pastry Arts. He left teaching for a brief time, returning to Baker College’s Culinary Institute of Michigan in 2012. Chef Kelly brings over 28 years of culinary experience with him to his position including Executive Pastry Chef, Executive Chef, and Director of bakeries at several restaurants, private clubs, and companies around West and Southwest Michigan. He is currently the Food Service Manager for the Senior Meals Program in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Chef Kelly is a member of the American Culinary Federation (ACF), West Michigan Lakeshore Chapter MI 122 and is ServSafe Sanitation Certified. He has a love for food in general, with a true passion for breads and bread recipe development. Chef Loughrige is a Veteran of the United States Army and served in Dessert Storm and the Bosnian Peace Keeping mission. He is a native of Muskegon, Michigan where he still resides today.
